Medieval splendour
❡ Burgos, a symbol of medieval architecture and former capital of the kingdom of Castile and León. Its Gothic cathedral, declared a World Heritage Site, the Monastery of Santa María la Real, its imposing 9th century castle and the monument to the Cid Campeador are clear examples of the greatness of the city’s heritage.

MORNING
Departure from Logroño
We leave the city of Logroño to do a section of the stage of the Way of St. James that leads us to Navarrete (12 km) in a comfortable and easy route on foot. Afterwards, our guide and private vehicle will take us to the Marqués de Riscal Winery, one of the most impressive wineries in the world from an architectural point of view and which boasts numerous international awards and recognitions for its wines, which have been produced since it was founded in 1858, making it the oldest in the Rioja Alavesa.
There we will have a guided tour of the winery and an exclusive wine tasting with food and wine pairing that will help us to learn more about the best kept secret of one of the most renowned D.O.’s in the world, Rioja wine.
MIDDAY
Lunch at the winery
Bearing in mind that the Wine City of the Heirs of Marqués de Riscal houses an exclusive hotel of the Marriott chain and four different restaurants, including one with a Michelin Star, we cannot pass up the opportunity to enjoy a meal in such an enclave.
We will taste different dishes of Spanish gastronomy, ranging from the most traditional cuisine of the area to the most avant-garde proposals. All of them are prepared by an exceptional team led by Francis Paniego, chef with 3 Michelin stars, and paired with the best wines from this emblematic winery.
AFTERNOON
Arrival in Burgos
After finishing our gastronomic experience, we will set off for Burgos, a journey of about an hour that will take us to the medieval city that was once the capital of the Kingdom of Castile.
On arrival we will take a guided tour with entrance included to the Cathedral, declared a World Heritage Site in 1984 and a must on any list. Afterwards, you will have free time t o visit other points of interest on your own or just relax. To allow you more freedom, dinner on this day is also your own choice, although we will of course help you choose from some highly recommended places worth trying.

Rest
We will stay in a 5-star hotel located just 5-minute drive from the exciting city of Burgos. This establishment has a heated swimming pool, a restaurant with typical Castilian cuisine, and rooms decorated by Pascua Ortega, among other amenities.
Breakfast can be taken in the room, on the veranda, or by the pool and includes freshly baked croissants from the hotel’s bakery.
